Find the road and take it
Dec. 15th, 2008 01:46 pmStudying for finals is seriously owning my ass. I'm worrying for the first time this semester because I'm not all that confident I'll do well since I skipped so many classes due to my poor health in November and December. I really hope I'll be ok and I'm sure I will...doesn't help that I'm worrying like crazy.
AND TO DISTRACT ME AND MY FELLOW SUFFERES OF STUDYING I GIVE YOU THIS LITTLE TREASURE NOW IN "HD QUALITY".
BWAHAHAHA!
And so it begins.....
jihoptwjoierw YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY :SQUEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE:
ngoerpwj ITS FINALLY COMING, ITS FINALLY COMING IN MAY EEEEK!
I know this has been online before, but I haven't seen it in good quality, and I didn't nearly hear all the words. And seeing the HD quality when dowloaded and not from youtube made me drool.
I saw snippets of the Wolverine's past part when it was in fact animated but I didn't see too much to know in terms of characters or story; like I might have seen like a minute or two. But I do vaguely remember the black haired chick/love interest and some of the other people on the team. All that I can say is I am QUITE excited. Not to mention Hugh's hair looks HAAAWT in this movie lololol
Speaking of which, anybody know where in the show that was or where in the comic book it was? I figured where I have at least three comic book nerd friends that somebody would know.
EDIT:
truenerdking ,
lithiumlaughter , and
green_amberjade ? Help me out here
I realized today just how much big fan of Gambit I am know, maybe even more so than Wolverine which is sayin' something considering he's my second favorite character (and yes she is a character not an "alternate personality">xxxxxxx>. DAMN YOU AMBER AND PERCY, DAMN YOU :SHAKES FIST AT:and is it just me or does he look exceedingly sexy in that one shot with the hat
ALSO
truenerdking , Are we possibly getting a group of people together to go see Spirit? Cuz I'd be totally down with that. And this trailer reminded me that its coming out soon. Y/N?Alright...so I've been procrastinating for an hour now, time to get back to the grind. WISH ME LUCK EVERYBODY
OH AND EVEN THOUGH HE CAN'T READ THIS, HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO THE BEST DAD IN THE WORLD, YOU ROCK SRSLY!!

Date: 2008-12-15 07:18 pm (UTC)Aight. Now that we've got that out of the way...
There are shitloads of different Wolverine Origin stories in the comics, and I really couldn't tell you which is officially canon. Gambit was never involved in any, nor do I recall Emma Frost as being part of them either. Deadpool, however, was part of Weapon X as well, has the crazy healing powers like Wolverine, and if I'm remembering my canon correctly, was developed around the same time. I know that it's accepted that Wolverine was married to a pretty Japanese girl, but they used Mariko (his love interest) as that chick with the claws in the second movie. Of course, maybe they'll link that. We'll see.
I don't know if this is what you mean, so if you have something more specific for me to work with, I'd be happy to explain what I can.
But on a side note, GAMBIT. *drools* I was waiting for him to say something and melt my brain with a lovely Louisiana accent, but alas. I have to settle for THE FEDORA. Truth be told? I can work with that. Omnomnom.

Date: 2008-12-15 07:27 pm (UTC)Hmm yeah, I thought that was Emma but I was like "WTF is she doing in Origins?!? o_0" But deadpool in there makes me very happy, and I'm excited that Liev Schriber is playing Sabertooth, and sorry I giggled at that last part with the teeth. I've always loved him as an actor and I think he'll do a great job.
So like..explain to me the deal with this Mariko chick, japanese chick, and chick in movie, cause I am VERY VERY confused. For a hardcore Wolverine fan, I sure suck at knowing my canon history about him.
DUDE I WILL TAKE THAT MOTHER EFFIN' FEDORA ANY DAY NOMNOMNOMNOMNOM!!

Date: 2008-12-15 07:40 pm (UTC)It's most certainly Emma. And HOLY CRAP DEADPOOL. Ryan Renolds was pretty much BORN to play that part, and I can hardly wait to see what he does with it. My friend has the hots for Liev,
Okay. Lemme see if I can break this down. Like I said, there's no one ACCEPTED story, so I'm going with bits and pieces.
Mariko Yashida was this lovely Japanese woman who Logan ended up being engaged to. Their wedding was kind of messed up by Mastermind, and through a crazy series of events involving a toxin and such, he was forced to kill her.
However, in the movieverse, in the second film there was that crazy Japanese woman who worked for Stryker and had the claws as well. If I remember correctly, she was introduced as Mariko. Needless to say, this is somewhat confusing on my part. I'm not sure how they're planning on blending the universes, or at all. Since this is set before Wolverine finds the X-Men (again, I think), they may find a way to mix the stories somehow. *shrugs* My friend Riley knows Wolverine far better than I do. I'll ask her to clarify, and report back.
I WILL TAKE THAT FEDORA AND THE MAN, PLZKTHNX.
Of course, a thought just occured to me. If this is set before the other three X-flicks, then movieverse Rogue/Gambit could get REALLY, REALLY WEIRD. Like, pedo-weird. This could result in a sad-face on my part.

Date: 2008-12-15 07:53 pm (UTC)Ryan Reynolds is playin' . Holy crap that's perfect, they're giving MORE reasons to be excited about this movie. eeeeeeeeeeee
Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm, woah, I don't think I ever caught that. Granted they must've called her that for a reason, so Idk, I would think where they went out of her way to call her Mariko that they might make the connection, who knows.
jgerowjtoierwpt Dude yah...I know that would be....ew. But I mean they're merging timelines left and right so you could make it work.
Oh...OH! ZOMFG! Suddenly mentions of that hat makes me want sexy Remi/Rogue with said hat. Fedoras and martinis and poker and smexyness and jgoierjto ok...I need to stop

Date: 2008-12-16 05:45 am (UTC)Ryan Reynolds as Hannibal King in Blade Trinity was pretty much Deadpool. The only way this casting could be as awesome is if Ryan Reynolds played Wally West/The Flash and even then it may not be perfect because Wally isn't as vulgar. (I think)
WE NEED TO IMMORTALISE THAT FEDORA!!!!

Date: 2008-12-16 03:32 am (UTC)I was kinda wondering who she was at first too. But I mean who else would be all shiny like that and she was in fact blonde for the brief glimpse we see of her in the trailer.
MY QUESTION is why they put her in Origins of all movies? o_0

Date: 2008-12-16 02:20 am (UTC)The Japanese woman in the movie is Lady Deathstrike, who as we saw has the same kickass powers as Wolverine. While originally she was a different character from Mariko, it has been known for the writers to merge the two together. This is what happened in X Men: TAS when they introduced Lady Deathstrike and said that she and Logan were once involved. Since they called Lady Deathstrike Mariko in the second movie, it sounds like they merged the two characters together again so that comic fans could cackle at all the hidden subtext.

Date: 2008-12-16 02:50 pm (UTC)In the past, my favorite X-Men have been Gambit (then they made him a pussy, thank you very much Rogue) and Colossus (who I do still marginally like), but my all-time favorite has got to be Beast. Nightcrawler comes a close second, but Beast is my boy.

Date: 2008-12-16 05:41 pm (UTC):shrugs: I probably would be tired of him too if I was raiseed on him constantly and being force fed all the time. It's probably why I'm not a huge fan of Colossus or Storm, I've seen their been through that. We've seen enough of them already let's have some kool characters for once. Plus personally I've always liked Wolverine in any verse, but he is overkill sometimes, so like I said I can agree with you, to some extent, it just really comes down to a different of opinion I guess.
Well you already know my favorite lol, so no point in saying that.

Date: 2008-12-16 03:30 am (UTC)Not to mention after you give that episode description that was in fact the one I was thinking about. TURNS OUT MY MEMORIES NOT THAT FAULTY AFTER ALL!!
Hehe, agreed agreed. Fedoras are just way too smexy to handle particularly on our Lousiana lad. GOOD, just picturing him with that hat and that accent is enough to make me drool..or faint...or BOTH.

Date: 2008-12-16 03:34 am (UTC)They are going to need so many ambulances on stand by when this hits theatres. The audience will suffer from heat stroke when Gambit comes on in his fedora. Nnngh.
