Tech + Dragon force=yes
Nov. 16th, 2006 04:33 pmSo yeah I'm not gonna lie when I say that yesterday was probably one of my funnest days at stage troupe i've had in awhile. Since light and sound pretty much had nothing left to do, me, my lighting director, and sound director were just chilling in the booth and talking. I'm looking at my sound directors music and i come up to untitled stuff and I see that she has the Turk's theme from 7. I start laughing out loud and play it, then all three of us start talking about 7 and other final fantasies and say which one are fav one is. I said toss up between 7 and 10, sound director said 7, and suprisingly my lighting director said 8, which kinda threw me for a loop cuz i was thinking he'd sway for lik 6, 7, or 9, but whatever. I look at my lighting director's ipod and I comment on his choice of music (ranging from Ayumi Hamasaki to Dragon Force) and meanwhile I find out that he watches bleach and downloads anime, plus he's read Wizard's First Rule. This all took me by suprise considering that I thought my lighting director and I had nothing in common, but now he has been dubbed super mega ultra cool.
This probably topped the night. Aj, my ld, goes "Hey let's through them really off." Throws in "My Spirit Will Go On" by Dragon Force and then, after the calm part at the beginning, everyone is rocking out to it, including a couple of the actors. My assistant director get's really into it. Aj starts to go crzy with the lights and has them synced up with the music. Then my assistant director don comes to the booth and his aiding in the light show. They take turns in pressing the lights (which are now buttons instead of sliders because we programmed them into the board) and now are right in time with the guitar solos and the song. Meanwhile, Rena (sound director) and I are doing the classic head swirls with our hair while rocking out to the music. I don't think I've laughed so hard or had so much fun in awhile.
