Back from Allentown
Oct. 3rd, 2005 12:53 amYah just got back 'bout a half hour from this band exhibition down in pennsylvania. We left at 7:30 a.m. on saturday morning and got back at around 12. It was a 7 hour drive one way, so it took us awhile to get down there.
Before we had our actual exhibition, on saturday we performed for as the extra act to a high school marching band competition. This was on of the best parts of the weekend. We knew that they were going to enjoy it and we had been practicing a lot so we thought we were gonna do good. But we were wrong....we were fucking AWSOME!!! We performed the best that we have done to date plus the audience aboslutely loved it. For our last song, when we rushed the stands, people were standing and clapping. Then when we were done we got a freaken Standing O. How awsome is that??
Alright the falling day, Sunday we had our exhibition where probably 15 colleges including us and UMASS played. It was so great, specially with the fact that we got to see some really great marching bands. The only bad thing was that we got there like 20 minutes before we went on so we didn't even hav time to warm-up, just tune. In the end, we did great, not as awsome as Saturday, but still really awsome.
Overall, I had a fun weekend. I got to associate and become friends with a lot of people in the band. Plus now I hav some great stories and inside jokes. One was a story that I am really proud of and is freaken hilarious. Alright well we hav these guys that help us with playin' and marching there basically like assistant band directors but not. There was this one guy called Jeremy that was one of these men. He was not there at Allentown this weekend much to r dismay. So one of the band student leaders decide to call him and get's his voicemail. Then he urges the people on our bus to call him and leave crz and kool voice messages. There must've been like 20 ppl who ended up leaving messages (i was one of them). Well we decided that our last message would b the best. We ended up leaving a message which was the closer to our performance when we march, More than a feeling. But we sung it and we sung our parts. So basically it was like playing the song for him but singing it for him. That was all that was entailed in the message. It lasted 'bout 3 minutes and 46 seconds. It was the greatest voice message eeeeeeever!!!
Alright well i should b getting 2 bed. It's been a very long weekend and i've gotten very very little sleep.
